Finally a cooler somewhat wet day with occasional showers, but much appreciated after the heat wave.  Finally getting settled after a long absence from my blog.  I have been doing some spinning at the Taylor Bray Farm wool day.  I am doing a great worsted in a dark purple border leister silk blend.  It turned out really great, the color was Purple People Eater.  Now on to the lighter purple called Lupine.  I also have about two ounces of dark purple hand dyed silk hankies.

Other thoughts include finally starting to do more tapestry weaving next month.  I have been thinking about starting a Tapestry Certificate of Achievement with the United Kingdom Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers for some time.  Life has gotten in the way the past couple of years, but I think now is the time to knuckle down and get going.

Guild Project

I certainly hope everyone from North Country Spinners is working on this years guild project. We each received two colors of CVM fleece to spin and work up into a project by the December meeting. So far I spun the gray fleece which was quite nice. I am now working on the brown fleece which is not so nice. It has a lot of hay and neps in the roving. I have a few ideas for the end project just wondering how much time is left to work on this.

Just added some pictures of the North Country Spinners Fiber Fallout retreat that was the last weekend in September. Had a really great time despite the cloudy and sometimes rainy weather. Took two great classes. All day Saturday was lace shawl design with Sandy Terp, and the half day class was with Judith MacKenzie McCuin spinning cashmere, yak, and buffalo. Very interesting and such great fibers to work with. Judith also gave a great talk on her travels in Turkey along with some great slides.
Hopefully next week I will be able to post a few pictures of SOAR.
